I lived at St. Philip House for 6 years and I thought it was very good living conditions. I had a nurse coming in two times a week. I had caught pneumonia and my two infectious disease doctors said that because my liver was failing, I had less than four months to live.
I was told to get into a 24-hour care facility and that is how I heard about Leeway. I moved into Leeway on December 16th, 2005 accepting that I had come to die in the near future. With the help of all the different staff at Leeway and the medications they make sure I take, I started to recover and began feeling better everyday. Everyone at Leeway has been a blessing in my life.
I've been here for 6 months and I am feeling much better. I have been dealing with this HIV virus for 16 years and now I feel like I have a chance to live in a better way. I have also been voted President of the Resident Council. I thank God for Leeway.
